St. Petersburg plants’ car output falls 16% Jan–Nov, 9% in Nov
MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- The output of car plants located in St. Petersburg – Hyundai, Nissan, General Motors (GM) and Toyota – decreased 16% on the year to 277,500 units in January–November and fell 9% on the year to 26,200 cars in November, analytic agency Auto-Dealer-SPb said in a report Monday.
“In December, production of cars in St. Petersburg may remain flat on the year. Hyundai will create stock for January, during which it plans to halt work, and production of Qashqai cars at Nissan’s plant is very likely to grow. As a result, the contraction of car production (in 2015) may stand at 15% on the year,” the company quoted its CEO Mikhail Chaplygin as saying.
St. Petersburg plans accounted for 23.1% of all cars producer in Russia in January–November.
Previously, the company said it expected combined output of the plants to fall 15% to 300,000 cars in 2015.
